Blueys
Alteration and Addition
blueys beach, NSW
2020
A unique site, sitting elevated from both front and rear gives the feeling as though the house is nestled between bush and ocean.
The client, a young(ish) professional from Sydney, purchased the property as a weekend getaway and a place to escape and reset from the pent-up tension inherent in urban living.

The projects ambition and success therefore became focused on the ability of the scheme to provide a framework for contemplation and respite. Fortunately, the temperate climate allowed for the blurring of the boundary between indoors and outdoors, enhancing the connection with the surrounding natural environment.

The house is divided through the changing of levels over one floor used to delineate between active and passive spaces.
